eight cats and seven litter boxesJul 01, 2008 I have three litter boxes in the upstairs bedroom of a three floor town-house condo. I like the performance of the Smellkiller SO much in that room, that I'm getting two more--one for the basement (four litter boxes) and one for the main floor--so we'll have total coverage. Once I remembered to check the water level every other day or so--evaporation, you know--it worked like a charm.
Amazingly, the thing works!Jun 28, 2008 My apartment use to fill up with cooking odors everytime I browned breakfast sausages or meats in a frying pan. The odors lingered for several days and waifed upstairs to the bedrooms. Sprays did help but I had to spray a couple of times to eliminate (as least as far as my nose could tell) the odors. Just got my Smellkiller yesterday and washed the stainless steel disc per the instructions. Filled the bowl with tap water just below the top of the disc and set it on the kitchen counter. Then I browned some sausages slices to see how effective or not, the Smellkiller was. Immediately after frying, I did notice odors but they were only a fraction of how it use to be. After maybe an hour, I was pleasantly surprised at how odors free the kitchen was.
I recently placed a clorox disc in the toilet tank. Odors of chlorine started coming from the bathrooms. I moved the smellkiller to the bathrm and again, was pleasantly surprised at how it neutralized the chlorine odors. It was just gone! I'm getting another Smellkiller for the upstairs bathroom.

No help with diaper pailJan 11, 2008 Since this seemed to work so well near litter boxes, I tried this near my diaper pail and noticed absolutely ZERO difference. I change the diaper pail daily too. It may be good for litter boxes (I don't have a cat), but it's no good for diaper pails. Just FYI for all the parents out there.

Didn't workJul 13, 2007 I put the Smellkiller in my very small kitchen and it didn't work even in that tiny room. The idea seems like a good one, it just needs to be worked out better.

Lives up to its name!Jul 01, 2007 Like, the other reviewers, I was skeptical. I put it on a low shelf, as close to the litter box as I could get it. I did not notice a difference after several hours, but by the next morning, the smells had been killed!
I noticed that the water seemed to be evaporating very quickly, but soon discovered that kitty thought it was it own personal drinking bowl.
I had to move it so that he can't get to it.
Great product, I'll be buying more.
